Pittet Lab
We aim to acquire missing knowledge to find better ways to fight cancer. Our areas of expertise are immunology and immunotherapy.
Our work has helped identify how some cancers are regulated by various immune cells, including cytotoxic T cells, regulatory T cells, macrophages, monocytes, neutrophils and dendritic cells, which are all considered as drug targets in cancer immunotherapy.
This Pittet lab is part of the Department of Pathology and Immunology within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Geneva, Switzerland. The lab is physically located in the AGORA Cancer Research Center, Lausanne, Switzerland. The AGORA assembles interdisciplinary research groups from various institutions to focus on grand challenges and translate advances in cancer research to the clinic.
Prof. Mikaël Pittet holds a Chair in Immuno-Oncolology, supported by the ISREC Foundation, and is a full member of the Ludwig Cancer Research. He is also Head of Research within the Service of Precision Oncology at the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG), and directs the Translational Research Center in Oncohaematology (CRTOH) at the University of Geneva.
